This performance confronts female voice and freedom through controlled fire. It unfolds as a ritual that pushes the body toward a threshold. It begins with a ladder path of cherry tomatoes, crushed underfoot to lead the audience into a dim, empty space. A swaddling bundle on the ground is lifted; the small tomatoes wrapped inside are crushed by the body, and their juice stains the white cloth.

I seal my mouth with candle wax, turning the body into a site of enforced silence. Then the white cloth—previously used as a swaddle—is set alight, and the flame touches my hair.

In the final moments, I turn and leave: the hair on my back continues to burn, while my steps remain calm and keep moving forward—vulnerability is pushed to its edge. The outside can fall into disorder, but the inside does not have to sway with it. Fire here is no longer only harm; it becomes a material of transformation—freedom is not the absence of danger, but the possibility, while danger is present, to remain true to one’s original intention and to rebuild the possibility of control.
